32 outstanding climate solutions launched at COP30

From November 10 to 21, 2025, the UN Climate Change Conference (COP30) was held in Belém, Brazil. China Sustainability Tribune, through its "GoldenKey – SDG Solutions" platform, presented 32 outstanding climate solutions from Chinese enterprises across multiple thematic side events and launch activities, systematically sharing China’s climate actions and replicable experiences with the international community

Coinciding with the tenth anniversary of the Paris Agreement and with only five years remaining to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), COP30 marked a critical shift "from negotiating rules to delivering results." The call by COP30 President-designate André Corrêa do Lago , "A Cycle of Words Ends, A Cycle of Action Begins", echoed UN Secretary-General António Guterres’s emphasis on "implementation, implementation, implementation." "Solution" and "Implementation" became keywords throughout the conference, underscoring the accelerated transition from consensus to tangible progress in global climate governance.

Report launch sets the tone: Chinese Enterprises’ transition experience inspire the international community

On November 14, at the side event "Multi-stakeholder Partnerships Driving Blended Climate Finance" in the Green Climate Fund Pavilion, Xiang Nan, Assistant President and International Cooperation Director of China Sustainability Tribune, officially released the report "GoldenKey: 2025 Climate Solutions from Chinese Enterprises." This report, consolidating six years of low-carbon corporate practices, presents 14 innovative solutions spanning five key areas: industrial park transition, zero-carbon villages, industrial upgrading, resilient cities, and new-type power system.

Xiang Nan highlighted that Chinese enterprises have achieved a leap from "a single spark" to "a raging prairie fire" in low-carbon transition, evolving from policy-driven compliance to strategic voluntary action. This shift is particularly evident in the energy sector. Through thematic competitions organized in partnership with State Grid Corporation of China and the China Electricity Council, the GoldenKey platform has identified a series of benchmark practices addressing climate challenges. Leading enterprises like State Grid have established efficient, low-carbon energy consumption models across various scenarios through smart microgrids, distributed photovoltaics, and other diversified practices, demonstrating both Chinese technical strength and providing replicable transition pathways for the world.

In her sharing, she took an exemplary solution of State Grid Wuxi Power Supply Company as an example to elerrate on how the company create a flagship zero-carbon industrial park to accelerate action on carbon peaking and neutrality goals. Key components of the solution were thoroughly analyzed, showing the application scenarios of this solution.

Multiple events relay: Chinese solutions cover all-climate scenarios
Across different venues and thematic sessions at COP30, GoldenKey solutions consistently demonstrated their value, offering a rich display of climate actions spanning multiple fields:

November 12: At the "Chinese Business Power Driving Global Climate Transition" side event, State Grid Taizhou Luqiao Power Supply Company presented its " Digital Dual-Carbon Brain" solution via video, providing precise energy consumption analysis for over a thousand local automotive industry chain enterprises. This solution was also selected into the GoldenKey Climate Solutions 2025 for its multiple benefits in helping enterprises achieve "lower electricity prices, lower electricity consumption, lower losses, and lower investment".

At the "China-Brazil Green Trade Partnership" seminar held the same day in the Brazil Pavilion at COP30, a selected solution from State Grid Quzhou Power Supply Company—"Carbon Account" Empowering Low-Carbon Development and Boosting Export Trade—was presented in video format, systematically sharing how the emerging "carbon account" mechanism in China advances emission reduction and supports climate governance.

November 13: At the "Building the Energy Systems of the Future, Bottom-up Approaches in the Global South" side event, Chen Hongmin, Director of Operation and Maintenance Department at State Grid Yongkang Power Supply Company, explained in a video speech how to empower numerous small and medium-sized hardware processing enterprises to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions through carbon measurement, calculation, and management. It is an innovative solution from the GoldenKey Climate Solutions 2025, offering a replicable path for high-carbon industrial clusters to achieve carbon neutrality.
November 15: At the "Practicing Sustainable Development, Shaping a New Green Paradigm" press conference, Yu Zhihong, President of China Sustainability Tribune, shared the climate solutions from Chinese enterprises discovered by the GoldenKey platform. He emphasized that these solutions rooted in energy transition and low-carbon operations are the best embodiment of the “implementation,implementation and implementation” for climate governance. The pioneering solution of State Grid Suizhou Power Supply Company, building the world’s first county-level demonstration zone for new-type power systems, was showcased through the on-site video presentation. Its innovative "source-grid-load-storage" collaborative model has provided a new paradigm for the global regional energy transformation.
November 17: At the "South-South Cooperation for Climate Change and Green Value Chains" side event, Deng Mingwen, Editor-in-Chief of China Sustainability Tribune and Secretary-General of the Global Sustainable Consumption Initiative, briefed the Global Sustainable Consumption Initiative launched in 2021 and a series of related activities. She also introduced the case discovery and practical promotion achievements of GoldenKey in this field and shared insights into how China’s green consumption policies are driving corporate action change.

November 18: Multiple events featured GoldenKey solutions, including BOE’s deep emission reductions through technological innovation and State Grid Jingning Power Supply Company’s synergistic approach integrating ecological protection, climate action, and rural vitalization. Deng Mingwen, Editor-in-Chief of China Sustainability Tribune shared the two solutions on the press conference titled "Harmony and Coexistence: The Role of Chinese Civil Society and Business in Responding to Global Climate Changes" held in the United Nations Press Conference Hall.

At the thematic side event "Anchored in Scenarios, Igniting New Momentum for Climate Action" held in the Side Event Room within the COP30 Blue Zone, Hu Wenjuan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of China Sustainability Tribune, shared the series of initiatives undertaken by the organization in the field of sustainable consumption, including multiple solutions designed to create a closed-loop system for sustainable consumption and production. The "climate-resilient distribution room" solution from State Grid Huangyan Power Supply Company and State Grid Zhejiang Information & Communication Company, attracted attention via a video presentation. By adopting a model combining manual prevention, technological prevention and intelligent prevention, the solution has increased flood prediction accuracy to 92.4%, achieving zero flooding during multiple typhoons. It provides a replicable power security solution for coastal cities dealing with extreme weather and enhancing urban resilience.


Additionally, at the Booth Exhibition Area in the COP30 Blue Zone, the GoldenKey maintained a dedicated exhibition space at Booth 10. Representatives introduced the GoldenKey solutions to international guests, and with the support of He Wei, General Manager of BOE Brazil, they promoted BOE's SDG solutions to the global audiences.

November 19: At the China Pavilion on "COP30 Enterprise Day," Yu Zhihong released the report "New Explorations in Energy Transition: Climate Action Solutions from State Grid Jiangsu," systematically presenting innovative practices from 13 prefecture-level cities under State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Company. As the largest provincial subsidiary within the State Grid system, State Grid Jiangsu has made the development of a new-type power system its core mission, addressing the classic energy challenge of achieving "security and reliability, economic viability, and environmental sustainability" simultaneously. State Grid Nanjing's microgrid technology is driving the transition of industrial parks; State Grid Suzhou's resilient grid is enhancing the city's climate adaptability; State Grid Yancheng's green power traceability is helping companies overcome green trade barriers; and State Grid Lianyungang is retrofitting port tugs with "green engines."
Additionally, the "100-Second Videos of Climate Solutions from Chinese Enterprises" was launched, featuring five outstanding GoldenKey solutions from CHN Energy Yuedian Taishan Power Generation Co., Ltd., State Grid Hefei Power Supply Company, State Grid Yizheng Power Supply Company, State Grid Changshu Power Supply Company with its partner Jiangsu Longteng Special Steel Group, and State Grid Yuncheng Power Supply Company. They visually demonstrated technical innovations, effectively transcending language and professional barriers.

Value highlighs: GoldenKey builds a climate cooperation bridge between China and the world

From the Green Climate Fund Pavilion to the UN Press Conference Room, from the China Pavilion to the WWF Pavilion, and from side event rooms to exhibition booths, the GoldenKey platform presented 32 selected solutions covering energy supply, industrial transition, urban resilience, and rural development. This demonstrated conclusively that Chinese enterprises have progressed from "self-transformation" to "solution export."

The value of the GoldenKey lies not only in identifying and promoting outstanding solutions but also in constructing a complete cycle of "discovery – evaluation – enhancement – promotion." Through a rigorous selection mechanism encompassing preliminary review, roadshow and video competition, and full-chain services including field research, expert empowerment, and international connections, the platform has become a vital bridge for Chinese enterprises to participate in global climate governance.
As President Yu Zhihong said: "There are no bystanders in addressing climate change. The actions of numerous Chinese enterprises are injecting confidence and momentum into global climate governance."
In the face of an increasingly severe global climate crisis, the prominent presence of GoldenKey with Chinese solutions at COP30 serves not only as a summary of China’s "dual carbon" progress but also as an active response to global climate action. These innovative practices, rooted in China’s context and encompassing systematic efforts by central state-owned enterprises to targeted solutions at the local level, from core technological innovations to model and mechanism breakthroughs, are being transformed into global public goods on the international stage. From the China Pavilion in Belém to the UN Press Conference rooms, Chinese enterprises have proven with concrete actions that sustainable development is not merely a global consensus but can be translated into feasible solutions. These solutions provide solid support for achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement and contribute Chinese wisdom and strength to building a community of all life on Earth.
