On June 2, the 2026 World Environment Day #NowForClimate #event, hosted by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) China Office, was held in Beijing. UN Secretary-General Ant贸nio Guterres and UNEP Executive Director Inger Andersen delivered video remarks, while Yan Shidong, Director of the Education and Publicity Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, attended and delivered remarks. Some 100 representatives from UN agencies, government departments, foundations, and the private sector participated in the event.

The roundtable was moderated by the UNEP China Office, with representatives from the Energy Foundation, China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development, SEE Foundation, Beijing Subway, and Weibo also sharing their climate action experiences from the perspectives of international cooperation, policy coordination, green supply chains, green operations, and public communication. The event also featured a thematic concert, using music to call for urgent global climate action.
