The "GoldenKey 鈥?SDG Solutions" was invited to present its six-year achievements at the the launch event of China's Progress Report on Implementing of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (2025) , hosted by the Center International Knowledge on Development.

Yu Zhihong, President of China Sustainability Tribune, delivered a special address sharing insights from the GoldenKey platform launched in October 2020. GoldenKey was created to discover and promote outstanding Chinese corporate solutions for the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs), responding to the vision that "sustainable development is the golden key to solving current global problems."

Six Years of Impact

Over six years, hundreds of companies have submitted 2,365 solutions addressing all 17 SDGs. GoldenKey has partnered with State Grid, China Electricity Council, and IUCN to establish themed tracks. In 2021, it was recognized as a UN SDG Good Practice.

Three Core Characteristics

Yu highlighted three distinctive features of GoldenKey solutions:

First, SDG alignment 鈥?every solution must demonstrate its relevance and contribution to specific SDGs. Analysis shows Goal 9 (Industry, innovation and infrastructure), Goal 12 (Responsible consumption and production), and Goal 13 (Climate action) are most addressed.

Second, precision 鈥?solutions must clearly define the problem solved, innovations made, and results achieved, following the GoldenKey criteria (AMIVE).

Third, continuous refinement 鈥?solutions undergo text review, roadshow presentations, and compelling short videos to optimize their impact.

Promotion and Application

GoldenKey has published over 20 case collections with Tsinghua University and Peking University, integrating solutions into business school curricula. Outstanding cases have been featured at national exhibitions like CIIE and the Consumer Expo, with over 70 Chinese solutions presented at UN Climate Change Conferences. The initiative actively engages with WFP and the South-South Cooperation Network.

Showcasing Chinese Solutions

The address highlighted diverse solutions across sectors:
1. Energy transition: renewable energy utilization, zero-carbon parks and factories
2. Rural vitalization: electrification of specialty agriculture, rural energy transformation
3. Sustainable consumption: the "Global Sustainable Consumption Initiative" launched at China Consumer Expo
4. Climate action: smart EV charging solutions evolving from "vehicles seeking chargers" to "chargers seeking vehicles"

5. Inclusive development: affordable medications for rare disease patients, employment for hearing-impaired individuals, digital empowerment for women, decent work for couriers

2026 Outlook

GoldenKey plans to launch a China Enterprise SDG Innovation Accelerator focusing on green growth, nature positive, and AI for good. It will participate in UN Climate Change, Biodiversity, and Desertification Conferences, host an exhibition at UN Headquarters, and strengthen cooperation with international partners.

The initiative will digitize and intelligentize over 2,000 solutions, leveraging AI to create new approaches for emerging challenges.

Yu concluded by inviting all stakeholders to co-create and share GoldenKey SDG solutions, advancing the 2030 Agenda in today's complex global environment.
