Explore low-carbon development of coal-based energy to help achieve carbon neutrality

CHEERS is a globally benchmarked carbon neutrality innovation project by TotalEnergies, with an aim to develop a chemical looping combustion system of the largest scale in the world. Without compromising energy efficiency, the project economically captures high concentration of carbon dioxide from industrial flue gas and recycles it as a premium resource. In addition, the project contributes to a 15% reduction in carbon emissions for industries such as refinery chemical, thermoelectric and chemical. The disruptive project represents a pivotal technology for low-cost artificial carbon sinks in the future, offering robust support for China and global carbon neutrality goals.


Low-carbon production and business restructuring to improve market competitiveness

With the climate crisis looming on the horizon, POSCO, as a high-energy-consuming enterprise, is actively engaged in the R & D and commercialization of breakthrough technologies to produce a new generation of low-carbon steel-the Hydrogen Reduction Ironmaking Technology (HyREX).
