GoldenKey — SDG Solutions, now in its seventh year, has officially opened its new cycle with its mission: identify role models, foster replicable solutions, reshape value creation, and build a platform where Chinese companies can be seen, recognized, and connected. We hope to bring Chinese businesses together to embed innovation into sustainable development and turn the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) from ambition into action. With the 2030 deadline five years away, the window for impact is closing fast.


About GoldenKey

GoldenKey was founded in 2020, inspired by the principle that sustainable development is the “golden key” to solving the world’s most pressing problems — and in direct response to the UN Decade of Action.

What sets GoldenKey apart is its rigor built on expertise and empowerment. Its evaluation framework goes beyond case collection — integrating challenge framing, value assessment, and impact measurement. Its process combines competition, pitch sessions, peer exchange, training, and research, helping companies build both the practice and the language of sustainability. Over six years, 2,365  SDG solutions from Chinese companies have shown on the platform, with particular depth in clean energy transition (including dedicated tracks, GoldenKey·SGCC Special and GoldenKey·Power Sector Special).


Global Reach and Recognition

GoldenKey has earned recognition well beyond China’s borders. It has been selected as a UN SDG Good Practice and has participated in major international forums including the UN Climate Change Conference (COP), the UN Biodiversity Conference, and the IUCN World Conservation Congress. Domestically, GoldenKey has also engaged with major domestic platforms such as the China International Import Expo (CIIE), the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), and the China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE), as well as the launch event of China's Progress Report on Implementing of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development .

Over six years, GoldenKey has grown into a vibrant community — more than 1,000 companies committed to sustainable development, over 100 experts, and dozens of international organizations and institutions. Together, they have built a comprehensive map of corporate SDG solutions in China. GoldenKey has become a defining symbol of China’s best sustainability practice.

The evidence is clear: Chinese solutions can provide real answers to global challenges. Chinese companies have earned their place at the forefront of the global sustainability movement.

What’s New in 2026

2026 is a pivotal year. The SDGs enter their final sprint; China launches its 15th Five-Year Plan; and the country’s dual-carbon targets reach a critical milestone. GoldenKey is raising the bar to match the moment. New focus areas this year include renewable energy innovation, green power procurement, AI for SDGs, and green supply chains. The process has been upgraded to strengthen roadshow and coaching and bring in international organizations and investors as dialogue partners. GoldenKey will also conduct SDG research and explore new models for communicating and managing SDGs innovations — while continuing to champion outstanding Chinese solutions on the world stage.
