Education not only elevates one’s socioeconomic status, but also plays the pivotal role in breaking the cycle of poverty. Providing access to high-quality education for all is fundamental in improving people’s livelihood and advancing sustainable development. Over the past decade, educational opportunities at all levels have significantly increased worldwide, with a notable rising of enrollment rates. However, faced with the far-reaching impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we cannot slacken off. To achieve inclusive and equitable quality education for all, the business community has been making relentless efforts.


Sustainable development curriculum enters elementary schools, sowing ‘green’ seeds for the next generation

The “Schneider Electric Sustainability Class for Teenagers” is a customized interactive classroom on sustainable development designed by Schneider Electric, centered around the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aimed at children in the basic education. The program uses target-oriented courses delivered through a combination of theory, experiments, and practical activities to convey the concept of sustainable development in a way that is easily understood by children. Since its inception, the curriculum has guided 1,215 students from 21 primary schools in Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, and Guangzhou to incorporate sustainable development into their lives and studies.


Explore village-fitted teaching content with technology for inclusive education

Tencent’s the Sustainable Social Value (SSV) organization Digital Education Laboratory has constructed the “Penguin Tutoring” project, a digital education system. Leveraging Tencent’s outstanding products and innovative capabilities, the project has developed high-quality educational content, remote online classrooms, and volunteer management SaaS. It effectively resolves stability issues in teaching under remote and challenging conditions. Moreover, it integrates with education management systems to facilitate volunteer organization and management. Currently, the project has been implemented in over a thousand schools and more than two thousand classrooms nationwide, delivering high-quality educational resources to a larger number of rural children.


“The Pomegranate Project” maximizes education assistance resources

In response to the educational challenges faced by left-behind children, mainly arising from the transformation of resource-based cities, State Grid Zaozhuang Power Supply Company has established the “Pomegranate Project” as an educational assistance brand. Through the establishment of a sustainable management mechanism, clear definition of the “Five Hearts Walking Together” activities, innovative collaborative responsibility approaches, and continuous implementation of distinctive practices, the project aims to achieve systematic promotion, normalized operation, brand management, social coverage, and exemplary leadership in educational assistance. So far, a total of 953 children have received educational support through this initiative.


Empower inclusive education in the new era by live streaming and short videos for vulnerable groups

Kuaishou’s profound attention to the needs of vulnerable groups such as young people and the elderly is driving inclusive education through live streaming and short videos in terms of content, business models, and technology. Collaborating with creators, Kuaishou has established a “Social University” to help 12.31 million adults improve literacy skills through live streaming sessions. Initiatives like “New Knowledge as Teacher Says Winter Camp” aim to enable more individuals to access high-quality educational resources. The company has also developed innovative knowledge payment models, assisting over 1.28 million elderly individuals in generating income on the platform. Leveraging technologies like LAS and digital avatars, it strives to lower the barriers to knowledge learning.


Color, way of love

Starting from 2009, Nippon Paint initiated the “Color, Way of Love” philanthropic program, supporting rural vitalization through village renovation and school aesthetics, enabling over 100,000 children to have colorful campuses and joyful childhoods. Along the way, Nippon Paint partnered with the China Youth Development Foundation and Shanghai United Foundation to establish dedicated funds, donating to the construction of Nippon Paint Happy Art Rooms, initiating training for rural art teachers, and engaging university students in art education activities. The objective is to inspire creativity and imagination in every child through art education and foster a more beautiful world.


Online STEAM classrooms empowers rural education through digitalization

Bayer’s “Cloud Support Teaching”Aid Program brings together the collective efforts of corporations, non-profit organizations, and education departments to utilize the digital empowerment model of “Internet + Education for Poverty Alleviation”. The program supports and guides over a hundred volunteer employees from Bayer to deliver personalized, standardized, and replayable courses to rural children. By removing geographical, temporal, and financial barriers, it effectively expands the reach of high-quality educational resources, helping more rural children access quality education opportunities and promoting educational equity.


Jointly build sharing basic education resources to balance educational development

To inject new vitality into education in impoverished regions, China Distance Education Holdings Ltd., CDEL, in collaboration with The High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China, has established primary and secondary school education alliance website, leveraging advanced network technologies in the field of basic education. This network aims to create a nationwide platform for joint construction and sharing of educational resources, contributing positively to the improvement of China's overall basic education level, promoting balanced development in education, and facilitating the social sharing of high-quality educational resources.


Mental health education in schools for students’happy growth

With the increasing prevalence of mental health issues among young people, there is a growing concern in society. Asia Symbol (Shandong) Pulp and Paper Co., Ltd. has partnered with a team of experts from the Chinese Academy of Sciences to support the education system in Rizhao. Together, they are working to establish a professional and diverse school-wide psychological service system. Using an image-based teaching approach, the program aims to strengthen students’ experiences, practices, cognition, understanding, internalization, and externalization. The ultimate goal is to cultivate and enhance students' abilities in self-education, self-management, self-service, and self-development.


Continuously empower rural education in China

Since 2009, Bridgestone has collaborated with relevant partners to initiate public benefit activities focused on children’s education in remote rural areas. These initiatives include the “Happy Tangram” and “Green IT Classroom” programs. Across 11 provinces and regions in China, donations of books, computers, and equipment for sports, music, and arts have been made. Additionally, 42 growth classrooms and 3 green IT Classrooms have been established. Bridgestone has also provided music, art, and computer courses to rural primary schools, aiming to cultivate the imagination and creativity of rural children and enable them to see a more wonderful world.


Sow the “golden seed” of rural aesthetic education

To promote balanced educational resources, M&G Stationery has established the M&G Rainbow Charity Special Fund since 2015. It has implemented projects such as “Empowering Rural Art Teachers” “Golden Seeds Plan” “Rainbow Creative Classroom” and “Kids of the Stars”.These initiatives aim to provide learning materials to children in underdeveloped areas while leveraging the company's creative resources. China Resources Enterprise has implemented a diverse range of projects to assist Hong Kong youth in overcoming the challenges of education and employment. They have planned and launched the first entrepreneurship training program in the Greater Bay Area, known as “Dream Take Flight” to empower young entrepreneurs and facilitate integration between the two regions. They have also developed the “Summer Employment and Training Program” curriculum system to provide job training and employment opportunities for exceptional Hong Kong youth. Additionally, they strive to cultivate a sense of patriotism and national identity among young people, strengthen their attachment to the country, and promote talent cultivation in the Greater Bay Area, ultimately contributing to the prosperity and stability of Hong Kong society.


Promote the talents training by integrating industry and lifelong education

Xingwen ZhiJiao focuses on the talent standards required for industrial transformation and upgrading. It integrates Haier’s over 30 years of advanced manufacturing and management experience with industry demands to create a new model of industry-education integration, encompassing curriculum, practical training, certification, and employment entrepreneurship. It has established deep strategic partnerships with more than 300 colleges and universities, jointly developing over 40 industrial colleges and training centers. This initiative aims to enhance the modernization level of vocational education in the new era and has benefited over 20,000 students.


School-industry cooperation helps children enter into university

To help students from economically challenged backgrounds achieve their dreams of attending university, Asia Symbol launched the “Dream Fulfillment Action” in 2011. Through partnerships with Rizhao Polytechnic and Qilu University of Technology, they have implemented a blended learning model that combines theories in the classroom with internship program in factories to jointly train students. Asia Symbol provides financial assistance and offers attractive employment opportunities to the graduates. To date, the project has invested over 14 million yuan and supported a total of 441 students.

Open the world of engineering for the next generation of engineers

The preschool and primary-secondary school stages are crucial for cultivating talent in technological innovation. To inspire the next generation of engineers, the “the Science and Design & Technology curriculum”project brings together Dyson’s global engineering education resources and actively explores diverse classroom experiences. It provides high-quality science and engineering courses to preschool and primary-secondary students in China, nurturing their scientific knowledge and skills. To date, the project has opened the doors to the world of engineering for over 200,000 Chinese students, allowing them to explore its mysteries.

A good gym class leads to a hopeful basketball journey


The gap in public services between urban and rural areas has resulted in difficulties and challenges for rural youth and the provision of school sports services. Drawing on the NBA’s extensive experience and resources in rural school sports teacher training and basketball-specific teaching, the “Hope Basketball Tour” program has been jointly established. This program aims to enhance the basketball expertise and professional competence of rural sports teachers, effectively empowering schools with their own teaching capacity. By doing so, it enables more children to access quality sports education and lays a strong foundation for the sustainable development of rural areas.

Digital platform and field support empower the cultivation of young rural teachers

Deloitte China, in partnership with the Youcheng China Social Entrepreneur Foundation, has initiated the “Youth Teacher Empowerment Education Project” targeting newly hired rural teachers. This program offers practical and diverse training in modern classroom teaching knowledge and skills. Since its launch in November 2020, more than 22,000 rural teachers have participated in the “ Youth Teacher Empowerment Education Project” and its advanced courses, which encompass 15 subjects and thematic teaching methods supported by Deloitte. As a result, these teachers are able to provide higher-quality classroom experiences for nearly 1.1 million rural children.

Technology and education to spark imagination of college students


Since 2016, Zhejiang University and Apple have been hosting the “China College Computing Contest - Mobile Application Innovation Contest” to enhance students’ awareness and abilities in innovation and entrepreneurship. The competition provides training in cutting-edge technologies and opportunities to learn from high-level engineers, aiming to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and the development of exceptional leadership skills. The competition has greatly benefited tens of thousands of students from over 700 universities in the Greater China region, becoming a significant platform for advancing the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education. It contributes to the cultivation of outstanding talents in innovation and entrepreneurship in the new era.








Improve education quality in poor areas to leave no one behind

UBS AG, together with its philanthropic partners, has launched the “Education of Children in Western China” with the aim of addressing the issue of dropout rates among junior high school students in rural western regions of China. The project focuses on “preventing dropouts and ensuring education” and implements targeted interventions to improve the dropout problem. It has developed methods such as delivering career education, providing focused therapeutic counseling, and implementing conditional cash transfers through school social workers. By empowering local social organizations and promoting validated effective approaches, the project aims to support the improvement of educational quality in impoverished areas of China.


Jointly build sharing basic education resources to balance educational development


To inject fresh vitality into education in impoverished areas, China Distance Education Holdings Ltd. (“CDEL”), relying on the National Basic Education Resources Co-construction and Sharing Alliance, has actively participated in the creation of a primary and secondary school education alliance website and utilized new internet technologies. As a supporter of rural education, Perfect World Co., Ltd. has been deeply committed to the mountainous areas of Yunnan province for many years. They have gradually constructed a multi-dimensional educational assistance system that includes various initiatives such as training young teachers, providing targeted support to disadvantaged students, implementing continuous growth scholarships, and supporting public welfare teaching. Through Gongyi Wanmei Foundation, they have increased employee participation and ensured the sustainability of their projects. Better grantees for athletes with higher financial literacy

As a global partner of the International Olympic Committee, Visa not only supports the sports industry but also demonstrates concern for the development of athletes. Since its launch in 2020, the Visa “Chinese Athletes Financial Education”program has assisted over 1,100 Chinese athletes in improving their financial literacy. The program focuses on enhancing athletes’understanding of fundamental financial knowledge, developing their basic financial management skills, and fostering sound financial habits. It aims to help athletes prepare for post-retirement transitions and ensure financial security for their career development after retiring from sports.


“Light up the future with nonstop love” public welfare growth plan

With the vision of “Making Children Enjoy Happiness through Sports Activities”, Anta‘s public welfare growth plan focuses on youth sports, and boosts rural vitalization through the integration of sports and education with the charity support of donating equipment kit, providing physical education, establishing ADream Centers, building sports fields, organizing sports camps etc. The Project is dedicated to enabling young people to enjoy sports and to shape a new self that is physically and mentally healthy. Over the past four years, Anta has donated more than 400 million yuan, covering 1.8 million young people in 7,784 schools in 31 provinces.


Children’s Paradise provides warm companionship to rural children

Regarding the problems of rural children being left behind and insufficient family and social education capacity, the children’s public welfare program called Children’s Paradise, through building child-friendly spaces, providing high-quality children's extracurricular content, and employing professional social workers, provides useful tools and matching resources for rural children’s out-of-school scenarios, and enhances rural children's confidence, curiosity and responsibility through learning. As of August 2021, the project has served more than 960,000 children.


School-enterprise cooperation helps build a new power technology talent training platform

How to cultivate and create a skilled talent team that is compatible with the development of enterprises is a current challenge. Cooperating with Fuyang Institute of Technology, Fuyang Power Supply Company has built a new power technology talent training platform through enterprise training, school-based learning, student practice, and joint development. The new model of combining industry, university and research of the company provides a new idea that can be replicated and promoted for the State Grid system to obtain skill support and personnel guarantee.


Quality education cheers for girls

In response to the increased educational as well as physical and mental challenges faced by girls in rural areas, the Goal Girls themed educational campaign recruits female university students as volunteers and trains them to take sports as a fresh and fun way to teach girls in rural areas knowledge of power protection, health and hygiene, communication and financial literacy through peer-to-peer exchanges and game-based instruction. The campaign aims to enable girls to be more educated and confident. As of May 2021, 181 lectures have been given in 15 provinces and cities during the campaign.


Little Red Horse safety education public welfare action

The Little Red Horse safety education public welfare action is the first public welfare project for safety education in China that integrates the PBL concept (Project Based Learning) and combines safety education, science popularization and industrial visit as a whole. Thanks to the advantageous resources of Volvo’s Brand Experience Center and its Manufacturing Base in Chengdu, the project, through an innovative teaching mode, popularizes safety and health education among young people and at the same time stimulates students’ ability to explore and innovate, thus boosting their overall quality。


Foreign Language Reading Corner helps disadvantaged children enjoy quality educational resources

To address the problems of poor English proficiency of children and lack of extracurricular books in marginalized urban and rural areas, Youdao’s Foreign Language Reading Corner provides intelligent hardware, foreign language picture books, and certain public welfare funds to disadvantaged children's service public welfare institutions and schools, helping to cultivate and enhance their interest and ability in learning English, increase their English reading volume, and master English learning methods.. To date, 40 reading corners have been established nationwide, benefiting more than 30,000 children.


Blockchain public welfare certification training empowers public welfare talents from a new perspective

Committed to promoting the application and popularization of blockchain in the field of public welfare, Spark Charity has created the first all-round systematic and standardized Blockchain Public Welfare Talent Competency Certification Training in the industry, and designed free public welfare courses for the industry and specific public welfare groups. It breaks the current situation of fragmented learning and high tuition fees, and enables public welfare personnel to operate and manage projects with a new perspective of thinking, building up the strength of public welfare professionals for the third round distribution of the goal of common wealth.



Industry-education integration facilitates vocational education to help train technical talents

To establish a technical talent development system based on industry-education integration and collaborative development between schools and enterprises and thus assist young people in becoming specialists in fields such as industrial automation, intelligent manufacturing, and energy management, Schneider Electric initiated the “BipBop Vocational Education” plan in China. “Mining Center” education program cuts the intergenerational transmission of poverty

To help impoverished students acquire skills and secure decent work, China Minmetals utilizes internal resources and carries out the “Mining Center” vocational education poverty alleviation project relying on the China MCC 19 Polytechnical School. This initiative offers three years of free vocational education and job placements for impoverished students from six targeted poverty-stricken counties in Yunnan and Hunan provinces. Through sustained and reasonable investment, along with a close-loop from enrollment to employment, the project opens a window of hope for underprivileged youth


Improve university students' innovation awareness to foster “future entrepreneurs”

To help university students access more learning and development opportunities, Standard Chartered (China) initiated the “Future Entrepreneurs” project in 2019. Through organizing activities like innovative competitions, it has mobilized the financial advantages of enterprises and the human resources of employee volunteers to support the younger generation in innovation and entrepreneurship. Presently, the project has benefited over 9,000 students from more than 200 universities. Nearly 300 social innovation projects have gained further enhancements through the “Future Entrepreneurs” platform.



Auto innovation makes children’s dream come true

Nissan (China) launched the “Nissan Dream Classroom” project in 2013 to promote the comprehensive development of young people. This project takes automotive knowledge as its starting point, integrates the STEAM education concept and aims to cultivate students’ comprehensive abilities to address societal issues like environment and safety. It has introduced 19 courses across seven domains including automotive culture, manufacturing, environmental protection, spray painting, design, and intelligent driving. These courses have been implemented in over 700 primary schools across 14 provinces and municipalities nationwide.



Launch live streaming to deliver high-quality resources to remote areas
NetEase Philanthropy Education was initiated by Ding Lei, founder and CEO of NetEase, in 2018. It aims to balance educational resources, “allowing knowledge to flow without class barriers and making every place

in China a good learning environment.” The project comprehensively utilizes NetEase’s software, hardware, platform capabilities and human resources to significantly improve the intelligent education level in impoverished areas. Currently, it has covered more than 200,000 students from over 300 schools, establishing a poverty-alleviation educational system that includes elementary school quality education, live and video classes for middle schools and teacher training.


Balance quality education through information empowerment

China Mobile has long been involved in the “Blue Dreams - China Mobile Education Donation Program” aimed at addressing the uneven distribution of educational resources. The initiative provides training for principals of primary and secondary schools in rural areas in Central and Western China, donates modern educational technology equipment and books to remote schools and improves the management capabilities of school principals in these areas. This effort has also enhanced the level of IT-based basic education, thereby ensuring organizational support to improve the quality of rural education in Central and Western China.



Lee Kum Kee Project Hope Chef: Accepting culinary training to rewrite destiny and becoming a chef for a wonderful life

To help young people in economically underdeveloped areas acquire specific skills and plan for an ideal life, Lee Kum Kee Sauce Group, leveraging its corporate strengths, has launched the “Project Hope Chef”project. This initiative fully sponsors financially disadvantaged youths to enroll in key vocational high schools and choose the major of Chinese culinary arts, thus enabling them to learn cooking skills and achieve employment or start their own businesses. Presently, the project has benefited 873 aspiring chefs across 21 provinces and cities. Among them, 482 individuals have commenced their careers, with most of the hopeful chefs integrating into urban life and financially supporting their families.

Build an innovation-driven online education technology system

To promote the upgrade and transformation of education models in remote areas and fill the educational gaps, Zhangmen has initiated the “Guardian of Impoverished Children’s Safety”program. By utilizing modern information technology, it provides high-quality online education courses for children in impoverished areas. Moreover, through remote teaching support, it offers professional teacher training to these remote regions. The “Cloud Teaching Support” project has now covered more than twenty schools and benefited tens of thousands of teachers.

Clean Water for Better Life—university students water resources research competition

To fully leverage the professionalism and creativity of university students in water resources conservation and actively address water scarcity issues, Lanxess launched the “Clean Water for Better Future” University Students Research Competition in 2015. The initiative aimed to encourage students to apply their expertise to offer solutions to water resource problems. The project has held six sessions to date, accumulating 109 water resource solutions and establishing a platform for interaction among enterprises, universities, media, industry associations and the public.




Boost high-quality and balanced education through an integrated solution of teaching according to the students’ aptitude

At present, uneven resources and heavy burden on teachers and students are the most prominent problems in the development of elementary education. The integrated solution for teaching students according to their aptitude proposed by iFLYTEK Co.,Ltd promotes the integration and innovation of AI technology and education, providing all-round intelligent support and data aggregation and analysis in teaching, learning, exams, evaluation and management. Meanwhile, the innovative OMO Hybrid Teaching Mode boosts responses to the regional education emergencies and guarantees the online teaching results, serving as an effective way to promote the development of balanced education and improve the quality of education.

Jointly build the activity center to promote early childhood development

The center reduces the financial burden on parents and taps into the development potential of children by providing free and high-quality early parenting activities for school-age children from surrounding communities.



Createcloud learning space” to help strengthen digital capabilities of rural areas

Initiated by Alibaba Group, the Cloud for Youth program aims to address the problems of inadequate high-tech educational facilities in rural areas and the imbalanced allocation of educational resources. Cloud computer classrooms are constructed based on the cloud technology to create separate digital learning space for individual student and form a network among school, family and society. The program helps alleviate the shortage of faculty in rural areas and allows more quality resources to be shared and accessed. At the moment, the program has been launched in over 160 school in remote areas such as in Qinghai, Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Jilin and Hebei, benefiting more than 110,000 students.



Establish an integrated inclusive education platform to develop vocational education

Alibaba’s Orange Class integrates high-quality educational resources to provide comprehensive educational support covering learning, training, competition, examination and employment. It aims to assist vocational school students and young individuals enhancing their digital economy skills and pursuing decent jobs. The company offers services such as faculty training, student training, skills certification, job recommendation, and collaboration with companies, in a bid to support vocational schools nationwide to cultivate high-performing technical talents, meet both students and enterprises’ demands and explore a new regional development mechanism underpinned by balanced educational development.
