Share base stations to accelerate 5G development
Given insufficient 5G base stations, State Grid Nanjing Power Supply Company addresses the difficulties in 5G base station deployment by allowing such stations to be built at its pylons, which becomes another driver for business growth. In addition, by bringing together resources provided by other players, State Grid Nanjing Power Supply Company has built the world’s first 1.8GHz power wireless private network, a network of intelligent interconnection to promote urban development. The project has slashed the cost of infrastructure building, reduced land occupation by public infrastructure, and formed a resource-sharing model between the power and telecommunication industries.
“Ecology + Power”Empower the green development of cities
Seeing that green energy consumption is uneven and inadequate in different industries, State Grid Huzhou Electric Power Supply Company cooperates with the government, financial institutions, power equipment manufacturers, transportation industry, self-employed businesses, and other stakeholders to build an “ecology + power” platform for the whole society. Demonstration projects such as green shore power, all-electric logistics, pure electric buses, and all-electric scenic spots are built, and China’s first “ecology + power” demonstration city has taken shape. These measures encourage the consumption of green energy in the whole society and significantly push up Huzhou’s ecological index.
Environmental pollution risk management platform supports whole-process risk assessment
The insurance industry faces multiple challenges in following policy requirements, catering to business needs, and improving risk management and control. The whole-process risk assessment solution of the environmental pollution risk management platform independently developed by Swiss Reinsurance Company Ltd, Beijing Branch and Nanjing University is science-based, standardized, up-to-date, cost- and efficiency-friendly. It is a technical support system suitable for enterprises, institutions, and producers in all industries for environmental risk assessment.
LNG Dual-fuel VLCC opens a new era of green transportation, and COSCO SHIPPING safeguards a beautiful environment with you
High emissions from fuel-powered ships have always been a concern of environmental management in the shipping industry. COSCO SHIPPING Energy Transportation Co., Ltd. and Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. launched the world’s first LNG dual-fuel VLCC cooperation project. Built following the EEDL phase I standard, the vessel is expected to reduce sulfur emissions by more than 95% compared with conventional fuel-powered tankers. Its nitrogen oxide emissions comply with the Tier Il standards set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and carbon emissions will also be slashed. It will act as a role model of energy conservation and emission reduction for large vessels and support the energy transformation of the shipping industry.
Innovative technology realizes green development of the conventional chemical Industry
Based on innovative technology, Yangnong Group, a subsidiary of Sinochem International, explores the green production of hydrogen-peroxide-based epichlorohydrin. The process uses clean oxygen and possesses the advantages of short duration, high atomic utilization, less wastewater, and easy treatment. It also addresses the problem of a large amount of wastewater in conventional processes since 98% less wastewater is generated. It has made an important contribution to promoting the green and clean production of the chemical industry and realizing its green and sustainable development.
Formulating a new plan for rural sewage treatment
Rural sewage treatment faces challenges such as varied standards, scattered households, volatility in water quality, and engineering difficulties. Beijing Enterprises Water Group Limited (BEWG) under BG has built a PPP project for rural sewage treatment in Yixing, Jiangsu Province with a set of comprehensive solutions created through the “1+2+3+more” rural sewage treatment model. Three major capabilities of rural sewage control have been developed and a “7+1” construction and management system has been built. BEWG has applied the intelligent platform to build a rural sewage 55 operation and maintenance center to make sewage treatment effective and feasible.
Green factory supports the future-BBA continues to receive the “National Green Factory” title
Focusing on the continuous improvement of green factories, BBA integrates factors such as energy consumption and health impact into the product life cycle. BBA expands the scope of clean energy use, improves the management system, digitalizes the management of energy conservation and emissions, implements the established energy-saving technological upgrade projects, and advances product eco-design and product carbon footprint management. By the end of 2019, BBA had achieved the goal of 100% renewable electricity use at the Shenyang production base, reducing emissions by more than 200,000 tons.
Innovation drives green supply chain management
Elevating green supply chain management to a strategic level, Dell Technologies adopts green supply chain standards and focuses on resource conservation and environmental friendliness. Dell Technologies plans to apply a new generation of information technology such as the Internet of Things, big data, and cloud computing to build an integrated supply chain system combining procurement, production, marketing, recycling, and logistics and optimize the design, supply, manufacturing, and service links. Eventually, Dell Technologies aims to balance business development, environmental protection, energy conservation, and emission reduction.
Green management of the whole value chain helps the printing Industry go green
Problems affecting the conventional printing industry such as waste gas and liquid pollution urgently call for a green transformation. Canon (China) Co., Ltd. integrates green concepts into multiple links of the supply chain. Through green design, procurement, marketing, and services, Canon (China) Co., Ltd. reduces the environmental load of products, communicates the message of environmental protection to suppliers, distributors, SMEs, and other partners, and encourages customers to purchase green products, facilitating the transformation of the printing industry.
A green supply chain is valuable with responsible procurement
The automotive supply chain must go green. Nissan’s Subsidiaries in China have incorporated the building of a green supply chain into their sustainability plans, especially “responsible procurement” as the core of green supply chain building and value creation. Nissan’s Subsidiaries in China have established and improved responsible procurement standards, heightened suppliers’ awareness of green development, and improved suppliers’ green capabilities. Green supply chain building is supported through evaluations, systematic management, and specialization.
Welcome to green space-the management of Inditex eco-efficient stores
To combat climate change and reduce energy’s environmental impact, Inditex promotes the efficient use of energy along the entire value chain by formulating a global energy strategy. Energy consumption per square meter has been reduced year by year through the development of an energy management system, the upgrading of eco-efficient stores, and the promotion of clean energy. In China, Inditex reached its goal of 100% eco-efficient stores in 2018, with two more stores reaching the LEED certification gold level.
